Behind The Camera

Known through many different online profiles: TheSupercarSpot, AgileCars and TheLuxuryLocale, as well as my personal page. Oliver Mee is a well known social media influencer/content creator with a current total of 180k+ followers.

Alongside this I am a Published Photographer and I use all of my pages to showcase my photography work, I have been praised for my attention to detail and constant goal to acquire the perfect image. 

I am based in either Beijing, Hong Kong and occasionally the UK throughout the year, and this, combined with worldwide travel, has led me into a variety of Automotive Events and Luxury Experiences, which have all been captured behind my lens. 

The Story

My love of photography began at an early age from growing up with a mother who was constantly taking photos, and her great talent and eye have certainly passed on.

My love for cars flourished after moving to Shanghai in 2005 but saw the most growth after moving to Houston in 2013, through frequenting monthly "Cars And Coffee" events. At this time, I decided to create TheSupercarSpot, in order to showcase my ever-increasing bank of Automotive Photography.

After many years of my skills developing, and constant attendance at events in Houston, I moved to Hong Kong in 2016. Hong Kong's amazing automotive scene meant much more opportunities for photography, therefore, my skills have improved considerably.

Following my move to Hong Kong, my online following started growing considerably. I learnt more about Instagram during this time, finding out which strategies to implement to maximise growth and reach of my accounts. This combined with my photography has since enabled me to attend notable events, photograph for supercar clubs and brands while also first being published in September 2017.

Featured In Fortyfication Magazine

Successes and Achievements:

  • Published in Fortyfication Magazine in their September 2017 issue for my photography of one of their members Ford GT40's.

  • Travelled to Thailand in 2019 as the Official Photographer for Team GB's Dragonboat Team, with the work from this trip being Published in the Royal Hong Club Yacht Club Magazine.

  • Attended Goodwood Festival Of Speed in 2018 and acquired Mclaren VIP Credentials due to my photography and social media presence. 

  • Acquired Press Accreditation for a leg of the 2016 Gumball 3000 Rally from Dublin to Bucharest. 

  • Spent time at Aston Martin Headquarters in Gaydon during October 2017, where I was able to get some unique photos in their VIP Atrium and assist in the previews of the then unseen 2018 Vantage. 

  • Worked for Mclaren Hong Kong's as an esteemed Media Partners and later employee, working in Marketing and also as a photographer/videographer.

  • Currently the Photographer for the SMD Club Hong Kong, one of Hong Kong's largest supercar clubs, regularly photographing their events and members cars.

  • Has joined and photographed many Porsche, Lamborghini and Mclaren Club Hong Kong events.

  • Gained Media Accreditation for Ingliston Revival in May 2017, due to my photography and social media presence.
